What you'll learn

Everything that is offered in the group version, just structured for independent learning and self-direction.
This includes:
Yoga Philosophy: the roots of the practice, how modern yoga evolved, and how to engage with topics like cultural appropriation vs. appreciation, ethics of yoga, the sutras, and the chakra system.
Detailed asana breakdown: warm-up, standing, seated, forward bends, back bends, twists, inversions. You will learn how to teach them, modify them, assist them, and sequence them safely.
Teaching Methodology: demoing, assisting, cueing, adapting for injury and pregnancy, and finding your authentic voice in front of the class.
Meditation and pranayama: how to teach them, incorporate them, and use them for both your students and your personal growth.
The business side: how to begin teaching, build community, get credentialed from Yoga Alliance, and move from training to teaching in the real world.
Strong home practice: even if you decide that you are not ready to teach.

About the program

Format: Self-paced, ten 2-hour one-on-one sessions with the lead instructor, online material, video tutorials, written and recorded reflections and assignments.
Certification: The training is an RYS-200 approved school with Yoga Alliance. Upon completion and fulfilling all assignments, you'll be able to register as an RYT 200.
Participatory learning: Expect asana classes, discussion, practice teaching, readings, and written assignments to deepen your knowledge and ensure that you are ready to teach.
Not sure about teaching? If you are not yet certain that you want to teach, this program is still for you. You'll gain tools to develop an effective home practice, discern your authentic voice, and decide if you would like to step into the role of teacher when you are ready.
Flexibility: Ideal if you have other commitments, travel frequently, or prefer working through material in your own time.

During the program, you'll meet with the lead trainer in 10 2-hour one-on-one sessions that correspond with key segments of the training. These sessions ensure that you are able to get personalized feedback, get your questions answered, stay on track, and integrate the material:

Cancel 30+ days prior to the training start date, refund is made by check less the $500 deposit
Cancel within 30 days of the training start date, refund is made as credit to your Fresh Yoga account less the $500 deposit
No refunds are given after the training start date
