Class Description
* Class goal: to support mindful parenting
* A time for bonding with your baby
* Abdominal strengthening and shoulder stretches for moms
* Opportunity for mom to connect with other moms
* Opportunity for babies to interact with other babies and moms
Find a new way to deal with the stress of being a new mom. Now that baby has arrived, take time to connect with other mothers to revitalize and renew your mind, body and spirit. Classes will enhance your physical and mental well-being while you bond with your baby.
In Mommy and Baby Yoga, moms sit down on the floor with their babies, and sing IBY rhymes while they move their baby’s limbs in repetition for functional purposes such as fun and gentle touch, relaxing the Moro reflex and digestive gas relief. The babies are on their backs and tummies, or in loving arms during the class. Most of the yoga in Itsy Bitsy Yoga is for the baby, but Shaun also incorporates movement for the moms.
Benefits of Mommy and Baby Yoga include helping mom learn their baby’s cues, maybe the baby will sleep better, tools for relief of fussiness and colic and empowering parents to enhance the baby’s motor development.
Dads, grandparents and nannies have all participated in this class.
Please bring a blanket for your baby and all other items your child may need to be comfortable.
Babies should be 5 weeks to 9 months (pre-crawling).
