KERI SAXTON
Keri Saxton RYT 200 is certified through Fresh Yoga. She teaches a mixed level class with hands on assists to provide a safe space to cultivate a deeper practice. She invites students to explore their challenges and mind body connection through the power of grounding and breath. Keri encourages mindful movement which carries with us off the mat. From there we can navigate the challenges of our lives with ease.
She also holds an additional certification for kid's and family yoga from Full of Joy Yoga. She has completed the Ring One Circus Yoga training, trained in yoga philosophy with Kim Valeri, completed a training in yoga and social justice through Off the Mat Into the World, and has had the opportunity to practice with Sean Corn, Cyndi Lee, Ana Forrest and Kathryn Budhig.
Keri is also a certified Reiki II practitioner. Off the mat Keri works part time as a nurse, full time as a mother, and has a big love for the art of jiu jitsu. She credits her yoga practice for bringing more mindfulness to her parenting and rejuvenating her passion for helping patients in their most vulnerable times. Yoga also serves as the perfect complement to jiu jitsu with increased ease of movement and flexibility. Keri teaches to jiu jitsu, muay thai and mma practitioners and hopes to bring more attention to the art of yoga as a solid supportive practice in the martial arts world. She is grateful to all her teachers at Fresh Yoga that helped guide her to go deeper within her practice. She soon discovered her passion for teaching children and families after the loss of her husband to cancer in 2011. She saw how the path of yoga helped her and her daughter Olivia through the grieving process. Through yoga children learn to manage the busy world around them. It sparks creativity, strength, body and breath awareness, and a sense of calm and focus. Kids learn the best way they know how, through play! It's an opportunity to let go of expectations. She brings this passion into all her yoga classes. We can all play, explore and co-create our practice. She hopes to see you on the mat!
