This hour of bliss is gentle yoga that is slower paced, with less intense positions, and includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. Yoga Nidra, the last 20 minutes of class, is a systematic process of relaxing the physical body and the conscious mind, while maintaining a level of subconscious awareness: “Nidra” is commonly translated as “sleep,” but even though the body settles into that sleeping state (alpha or delta brain waves), the practitioner can still follow and benefit from the instruction. Jess will lead you through a deeply meditative, relaxation experience designed to release the mind-body from habitual reactions through the power of intention.
If you have props of your own that you wish to bring (blanket, pillow/bolster, etc) that will encourage more comfort in this practice, please bring them along.
About the Instructor
Jess sees Yoga and Meditation as transformational tools; the means by which we emerge as the best version of ourselves. She consistently challenges her students to make space between their thoughts, to develop awareness of their habitual reactions, and to respond to challenges in ways that benefit themselves and others.
