Ashley Feehan, PT, DPT, RYT 200, is a certified yoga instructor with the yoga alliance. She completed her RYT – 200hr at Fresh Yoga in New Haven, CT studying under Heidi Sormaz. Ashley’s classes are taught in a vinyasa style with adequate warm-up and cool down of key muscles used in yoga. She teaches an exciting, fun, and challenging practice, so be ready to sweat!
Ashley holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Northwestern University and is currently a practicing physical therapist. Ashley practices in a variety of patient-care settings, but has a strong focus in the orthopedic and geriatric sections of rehabilitation. Her thesis on geriatric health and wellness promotion was chosen to be presented at the 2011 CSM - National Physical Therapy Conference. Her experience as a physical therapist leads her to focus intensely on proper alignment and injury prevention in her classes. She provides excellent hands on assists to promote improved body awareness for her students in each pose. Ashley has deep respect of the mind-body connection that yoga provides and she encourages her students to deepen this connection during each class. Through practicing yoga over the last 8 years, Ashley has personally found solace and great physical and mental strength. This has led her to lead a more positive and fulfilled lifestyle.
Ashley also has a blog entitled “PracticallyFit” geared toward leading a practical healthy lifestyle. She chronicles her journeys around fitness and health in a fun and not so serious tone. Being an avid runner and hiker Ashley appreciates all forms of exercise and the need to have variety. In spite of all her interests Ashley loves kicking back to enjoy a great craft beer with her husband and spending time with her 2 adorable dogs!
