Introduction to Inversions

Are you afraid to go upside down? Don’t feel strong enough? Need a spot?

Turn your world upside down! This Forrest Yoga workshop will teach you how to warm up and build strength for forearm balance and handstand, and then provide a supportive environment for taking that first (or second, or third) kick up! Inversions are a great way to lift your mood, find energy, feel your edge, and see things in a different way. And they are fun!! This workshop is perfect for beginning and intermediate students who are uncomfortable going upside down or haven’t had much opportunity,  as well as more advanced students who want to refine their inversions, moving towards balance. Everyone will have the opportunity to be assisted into forearm balance and/or handstand.

Instructor Lisa Brooks will share with you her love of inversions!

Lisa Allette Brooks
Lisa Brooks is yoga teacher and professional musician, who encourage students to walk a healing path in their practice. Through emphasis on alignment, breath and feeling she helps students learn to work with their own injuries, be free from pain, and bring healing to physical and emotional issues. Lisa completed the Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training, participated in the Fresh Yoga Forrest Mentoring Program, has studied Ashtanga-based Vinyasa and Tri Yoga, and she studies with Ana Forrest on an ongoing basis. Lisa has a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.A. in African Studies from Yale University, as well as three full-length albums of original music.
