Experience Yoga!
Yoga is an ancient Eastern tradition that usually includes regulated breathing, moving through various postures (asanas)
and meditation. Many people with cancer experience pain, anxiety, and mood disturbances. Conventional treatments do not
always satisfactorily relieve these symptoms and some patients may not be able to tolerate side effects. Yoga has been shown
to relieve symptoms and to promote physical and mental well being in cancer patients and survivors.
Fresh Yoga is sponsoring a benefit class in support of the Yale Cancer Center, a comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Institutes of Health. In the fight against cancer, Yale has been at the forefront of understanding the fundamental mechanisms of cancer biology and in developing effective therapies for the treatment of cancer. Yale Cancer Center harnesses the resources of the Yale School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital to advance cancer research, prevention, and patient care, as well as community outreach and education. For more information about the organization please click here!.
The class is a 90 minute all levels class that includes a health and healing meditation, pranyama (breathing), asana practice, and deep relaxation.
All are welcome. Help us raise money for a wonderful cause!
